Short Description of Instrument
TVPS-4 is an individually administered assessment of two-dimensional visual-perceptual skills for individuals aged 5 through 21.
Comments/Special Instructions
Assesses visual-perceptual abilities without requiring a motor response.
Administration time for all subtests is approximately 30 minutes.
Seven Subtests:
    1. Visual Discrimination
    2. Visual Memory
    3. Spatial Relationships
    4. Form Constancy
    5. Sequential Memory
    6. Visual Figure-Ground
    7. Visual Closure

Scoring and Psychometric Properties
Scoring: Raw score for each subtest is the number of items the examinee answered correctly. Convert the raw score to standardized scores (i.e., scaled score).
 
Psychometric Properties: Per the TVPS-4 manual, this is a consistent and stable measure that is reliable across all ages for which the test is intended. The content has a high level of homogeneity and provides consistent measurements from one testing session to the next.
Rationale/Justification
Strengths: Easy to administer, short administration time, basic visual perception by matching is assessed.
